GMTAP - a Play2Earn game on Telegram Mini App with monetization through Stars

GMTAP

GMTAP is a Play2Earn game built as a Telegram Mini App. Players earn GMTAP Coins by completing in-game tasks, upgrading their characters (auto-miners), and competing in leaderboards. In the future, these coins will be used in an Airdrop.

The project targets a Web3-savvy audience and fans of crypto games who value convenience, fast wallet integrations, and real rewards. By becoming part of the Telegram ecosystem, GMTAP allows users to start playing and earning without downloading separate apps - the game launches directly inside Telegram.

The client approached us with an existing basic version of the product. However, it didn’t solve key business and user challenges:

- The interface was complex and unintuitive.
- Game mechanics failed to retain players.
- Technical implementation lacked stability.

Our team took on a full product redesign: auditing the current version, reworking gameplay logic, improving UX, and developing the game from the ground up.

From Concept to Live Product

The project began with a review of the technical specification and an audit of the existing version. We quickly realized that simple refinements wouldn’t be enough - the product needed a complete reboot.

Instead of minor tweaks, we reimagined the game from the ground up.

1. Updated the overall game concept while keeping the idea of earning GMTAP Coins.

2. Designed a new user journey - from the first action to long-term engagement.

3. Built retention mechanics: quests, progression systems, leaderboards, and referral programs.

4. Integrated Telegram Stars as a safe and convenient in-app payment solution.

Gameplay & Engagement

To prevent the game from turning into a “one-click experience,” we introduced a progressive engagement system:

• Auto-miner upgrades — higher levels unlock greater rewards.
• Marketplace — players can buy and upgrade autos.
• Leaderboards & challenges — motivation to return daily.
• Daily quests — consistent activities rewarded with GMTAP Coins.
• Referral system — organic audience growth through sharing.
• Telegram Stars integration — purchase in-game resources without leaving Telegram.

Development & Technology

The entire project was executed in-house - from analytics to final launch.
